He Called Me Out!!

My brother called me out in a "comment". I don't see him writing a new blog. I'm pretty sure he used to have one....

So I'm a new fan of npr.org. I have been an npr fan for awhile- thanks mom!- but never checked out their website until tonight. They do a lot of interviews with cool artists and we found an archived interview with Ryan Adams, complete with a short concert! He said some pretty funny stuff- I actually put a quote by him in the interview at the foot of this blog.

What else... the new job is going well. Still training. Had my first exposure to the Nutter Butters at my first GIS staff meeting (GIS is my dept. name). Fig Newtons also made an appearance. Those are the ingredients for a successful meeting.

Played basketball with Softshare folks on Tuesday lunch- fortunately there's a new guy who is pretty good- has obviously played before. UNfortunately I had a shot get completely rejected and swatted away by one of my co-workers, Allen. Everyone did the whole "Oooh" (because that's embarrassing). I'm getting better, though. And I haven't done anything to warrant a Technical (because I know you were wondering, mom). Christine and I decided we should look at it as a sign of respect b/c the guys don't go easy on us (she and I) like they do on some of the other girls. I said it's the least I can do to make his light shine a little brighter... :)

Speaking of basketball, my husband played this week- yeah, he still has a cast on his shooting arm. The guys he was playing with were like- "how are you going to play with that thing?" and he responded "I'll play defense and set screens and shoot left handed." Duh- why did they even ask!?! He's too funny. He actually scored 4 points but then he airballed a 3 pointer. Still- I would airball a 3 pointer with no casts- zero casts and I missed a lay-up!

Tomorrow is Ultimate at lunch- I'm much better at Ultimate. But I'm on a 2 week losing streak for Softshare sports. The Cubs are actually doing better than me- that's sad.

Hey - you gotta get the softshare folks in a game of water polo - show them who's the queen!

Glad to see you're past the technicals phase!

love you
